The Nuernberg Verdict

The Nuernberg Verdict SIGNED

Cambridge, MA: The Harvard Law Review Association, 1947. Original wraps. WARMLY INSCRIBED BY HAROLD LEVENTHAL (1915-1979), ONE OF THE PROSECUTORS ON THE LEGAL TEAM OF U.S. CHIEF PROSECUTOR ROBERT H. JACKSON DURING THE NUERNBERG TRIALS AND AN EVENTUAL FEDERAL JUDGE ON THE US COURT OF APPEALS FOR THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA CIRCUIT. A solid copy to boot of this 1947 1st thus of the Nuernberg Verdict, in which 19 of the 22 defendants were convicted (including Hermann Goering, Alfred Rosenberg, Julius Streicher and Martin Bormann, among others, who were all sentenced to hang). The original report from Leventhal and others, forming the July 1947 issue of Harvard Law Review, here appears in an understated octavo booklet with simple light-green wrappers. Though somewhat fragile, the booklet remains bright and VG+, with just a touch of wear at the spine ends and one small chip and very light creasing along the rear panel's edges. Insisting on following the rule of law and giving even the most hateful figures their day in court, the US, arguably more than at any other time in its history, shined in this post-War period as the moral compass of the world. Very Good +. Item #26066
