Royal Document Signed by Catherine de Medici (1547-1589), Queen of France and Mother of Three French Kings
1587. Single sheet. 1587 French royal document "to satisfy a debt for embroideries and other luxury goods delivered to the household." SIGNED BY CATHERINE DE MEDICI HERSELF and counter-signed by her royal advisor de Laubespine, "a prominent diplomat and secrertary of state during her regency". The document constitutes a single sheet, an evenly-folded folio, with the text (written in Latin, in a flowing ink) and the signatures along the front side and a small, untranslated paragraph in Latin at the verso, also dated 1587. The paper, not quite a parchment but of a thick rag quality, is strong and clean and well-preserved. Solidly VG+. Very Good +. Item #26064
