Board of Park Commissioners, City of Milwaukee, 1899. Full leather. The 1899 2nd edition of this very uncommon turn-of-the-century study of the parks of Milwaukee. Published by the City's Board of Park Commissioners and including an Introductory text ("Brief History of the Public Parks and Boulevards of the City of Milwaukee, Wisconsin"), the bulk of the album is devoted to the 42 crisp, black-and-white photos of the City' parks themselves (which include Mitchell Park, South Park, Lincoln Avenue Park, West Park, Lake Park and River Park). The captioned photos appear along the rectos, the facing versos left blank. Bound in a full pebbled leather, with bright git-titling to the front panel and period, hand-sewn stitching at the spine. Oblong quarto, all edges gilt. Very light bowing to the covers, otherwise sharp and very well-preserved. Very Good +. Item #25082
