The uncommon 1849 1st edition of this significant contribution to the history of 19th century New York, specifically to the establishment and running of its municipal government. Clean, well-preserved and VG+ in its chocolate-brown cloth, with intricate blindstamping and bright gilt-titling and design along the panels. A touch of light spotting, one thin streak and a former owner name ("Martin E. Thompson Esq.") printed --presumably at a later date-- across the front panel. Internally, very sharp, with no writing or markings to speak of. Octavo, 210 pgs.
