Item #20687 Pottery of Costa Rica and Nicaragua (2 Vols.). Samuel Kirkland Lothrop.

Pottery of Costa Rica and Nicaragua (2 Vols.)

New York: Museum of the American Indian, Heye Foundation, 1926. Original wraps. A very impressive example of the 1926 1st edition, in 2 volumes. Both volumes crisp and VG+ to Near Fine in their beige wrappers, with very mild darkening and creasing along the spines and just a touch of offsetting along Vol. II's front panel. Otherwise, clean as could be and, internally, immaculate, with no writing or markings of any kind. The bindings are very strong, all plates (both in color and black-and-white) present and in pristine condition. Thick quartos, deckled fore and bottom-edges. Vol. I boasts 100 full-page plates and 116 figures and Vol. II 105 full-page plates and 183 figures. One of the great early studies of pottery of this Central American region, in true collector's condition. Near Fine. Item #20687
