A gorgeous copy of this post-War celebration of color, in this lavish 1949 Montgomery Ward catalog showcasing a dazzling array of wallpaper patterns and colors. The supply of "dyes, inks and paper stock" which were in short supply during the war were back in abundance by the late 40s and are here on full display. On each recto a wallpaper sample (almost all in vibrant hues), on each facing verso a precise desciption of the sample. The catalog has held up very nicely to boot and is crisp, well-preserved and Near Fine in its decorative wrappers. Just a touch of very faint wear along the spine ends and one microscopic chip (the size of a grain of sand) at the front panel's lower-tip. Internally, clean as could be, with no writing or markings of any kind. Octavo, 77 separate samples. Very attractive and presentable, one of the great post-War catalogues in the decorative arts.
