AND, AS CALLED FOR, EACH OF THE ONE HUNDRED COPIES IS SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR (ELBRIDGE HENRY GOSS) AND EACH SIGNED BY THE PUBLISHER (JOSEPH GEORGE CUPPLES) below the statement of limitation. A very presentable copy to boot of this sweeping 2 volume biography, "with portraits, many illustrations, facsimiles, etc." Both volumes tight and VG in their handsome navy-blue cloth, with bright, unrubbed gilt-titling and design along the front panels and spines. Light, forgiveable soiling to the panels (a bit more pronounced at Vol. II's front panel), a bit of light scuffing to the rear panels. Internally, very clean, with no writing or markings or foxing to speak of. Thick, massive octavos, all edges gilt. Several dozen plates, many tipped-in, all with their original tissue-guards. Elegant. tipped-in frontispiece portraits of Paul Revere as well. Imposing in scale, very impressive in appearance and ambition. Very Good. Item #17680
