Home Canning, Drying and Preserving (In the Rare Dustjacket -- And With Very Interesting Ephemera Laid-In)

New York: Doubleday, Page & Company, 1918. Decorative Cloth. An unusual copy of the 1918 1st edition. Not only featuring its very uncommon pictorial dustjacket but also including some wonderful related ephemera from the restaurant chain Savarins Inc., the liquor importer Steinreich Associates, etc. Solid and Good+ to VG- (mild darkening --and a bit of scuffing-- along the lower-edges, offsetting to the rear endsheet and pastedown) in a bright, Good+ only copy of the fragile dustjacket, with pronounced chipping along the panel edges and spine ends, light soiling to the panels and light chipping at the flap-folds. Still though, attractive and very presentable. 12mo, 150 pgs., black-and-white photographs supplementing the text. The Steinreich letter in particular is a fascinating piece of Prohibition history. Dated June 1933, the company anticipates the repeal of the 18th Amendment (Prohibition) as it positions itself to begin importing ales, beers and wines. Good + / Good +. Item #17183
