A solid, well-preserved copy of the Sothebys catalogue of the June 8-10, 1882 London auction of the remarkable collection of old fans of Dr. Robert Walker. The catalogue opens with 44 pgs. of text (which consists of detailed descriptions of the 462 fans offered in the sale) and then leads into the 52 wonderful autotype plates of some of Dr. Walker's choicest fans. The catalogue is tight and VG to VG+ in its original light-green card wrappers, with just a bit of soiling along the panels. Internally, very clean and, except for a small, discreet bookseller's stamp at the foot of the rear endpaper, there's virtually no foxing or markings of any kind. At an undetermined point, the spine of the catalogue was professionally --and tastefully-- re-backed with silver tape, serving to strengthen the binding.
