The Collected Writings of John Maynard Keynes (complete in 30 Vols.)

London: Macmillan, St. Martin's Press/Cambridge. Cloth. An uncommon example of The Collected Writings of John Maynard Keynes, complete in its 30 octavo volumes. All volumes in solid, VG condition and all include bright, VG dustjackets. THIS SET, ADDITIONALLY, COMES FROM THE LIBRARY OFTHE REDOUBTABLE HARVARD SOCIOLOGIST DANIEL BELL. Sweeping in its scale and ambition, the set not only presents all the published books of the 20th century's pre-eminent economist but also "makes available his writings in the India Office and in the Treasury in two wars, many contributions to journals and to the press which have never been collected, and much of his correspondence conncerned with economic issues". The writings span the two world wars and are rounded out by the final volume, a very helpful index and biblliography. The volumes are mostly mixed states: most of them are early reprints and a good number are 1st editions in this format. A small number of the volumes have very light staining (mild water) along the jacket spines and rear panels and half a doxen of the volumes have pronounced foxing along the jacket spines. Still though, a very presentable set -- and quite scarce in its full 30 volumes. Collectible; Very Good / Very Good. Item #6473
