The Story of the Tower: The Tree That Escaped the Crowded Forest SIGNED

New York: Horizon Press, 1956. Cloth. INSCRIBED BY FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT --IN YEAR-OF-PUBLICATION-- on the front free endpaper. A very sharp copy to boot of the 1956 1st edition. Tight and VG+ in its dark cloth, with a very thin band of light offsetting along the upper and lower edges. And in a bright, price-intact, VG to VG+ dustjacket, with a bit of light chipping along the spine crown and very minor creasing at the front panel's edges. Still though, a very presentable copy. Quarto, dozens of crisp black-and-white photos and plans throughout. (From the front dustjacket flap: "For the first time, the growth of a building --from original idea to plan to actual day-to-day construction and ultimately to completion-- is presented in one full-length book. The Price Tower is one of the supreme masterpieces by the world's greatest architect, 'an idea' to quote Frank Lloyd Wright 'which had to wait over twenty-five years for full realization' -- the skyscraper now at last come into its own" Very Good + / Very Good +.
