The November 1953 1st edition, limited to 300 copies and published by the formidable Tibor de Nagy Gallery of New York. A solid, bright copy of a notoriously fragile item but with modest chipping along the front panel edges and a small (almost 2") diagonal neatly cut at the lower corner of the title page. The rear panel very clean and the binding delicate but still sturdy. 4 full-page drawings by Jane Freilicher complementing Ashbery's verse. The distinct design/composition "under the supervision of Nell Blaine", the "American landscape painter, expressionist and watercolorist" (1922-1996). Very Good. Item #19934
