A rare 1960 NAACP-sponsored call-to-action flyer against the national chain Woolworth in response to its refusal to serve African-Americans at its lunch counters in the American South. A single sheet, light purple, bright and clean, measures 8 1/2" x 11". Issued by the Sullivan County, NY chapter of the NAACP, specifically the Woodbridge and Liberty areas (best known for their proximity to the Catskills). This flyer inspired by the national boycott of Woolworth, which began when 4 young black men were refused service at a Woolworth lunch counter in Grrensboro, North Carolina in early 1960. Near Fine.
