Item #19479 DNIAS Annual Report 1968

DNIAS Annual Report 1968

Japan: Design Networks in Industrial Age for Spaces, 1968. Portfolio. Uncommon, thick portfolio of Japanese industrail design, specifically, of projects sponsored by the Design Networks in Industrial Age for Spaces. The portfolio represents an annual report, in this case 1968, assuring wildly creative, imaginatve ideas in design. 26 separate design plans all told, in each case the designer is highlighted and the design itself formally titled in the presentation. Some examples: "Robot in Laboratories" by Yamashita Sunao; "Gawalk" ("The General Automatic Walking Machine with Six Legs") by Mori Masahiro; "Planning of Earth Reconstruction" by Manabe Hiroshi; "Anthromobile System" by Hirao Osamu; "Tree Furniture in New Living" by Toyogucji Kyo; "Tissue-Paper Package" by Shibata; "What Is Furniture" by Kohara Jiro; "An Increase in Air Traffic" by Kimura Hidemasa; "Functionalism and Colors in a Uniform" by Ishizu Kensuke, etc. Radical Japanese design, with dual texts (both Japanese and English), all contained loosely (as issued) within a dark card chemise. A scarce example of late 60s Japanese design pushing the boundaries. Near Fine. Item #19479
