Stories of the Sioux. Chief Standing Bear.

Stories of the Sioux

Boston: Houghton Mifflin Compnay, 1934. Cloth. A handsome copy of this uncommon 1934 1st edition. Tight and VG+ (very light offsetting along the top-edges and at the inner-hinges) in a crisp, price-intact, VG+ dustrjacket, with light chipping to the panel edges and very mild soiling along the rear panel. A well-preserved, very presentable copy. And also includes a fascinating presentation on the front free endpaper, a Chrsitmas gift to Shirley May Spaulding, who has written her own name ("Morning Star") in the Sioux language. And above this is another inscription (possibly from Chief Standing Bear?), also in Sioux. Very Good + / Very Good +. Item #18586
