A.D. Presents Paul Rand
New York: The A.D. Gallery, 1947. Loose sheets. The uncommoon catalogue based on the March-May 1947 exhibition at New York's A.D. Gallery. As introduced on the title page, "The directors of A.D. Gallery take pleasue in presenting Paul Rand in an exhibition of his designs on view from March 31st through May 29th, 1947". Along with a stapled booklet introducing the catalogue, 24 loose black-and-white plates (as issued) of some of Rand's iconic work are contained in a dark, string-tied, card chemise designed by Paul Rand himself. The 24 plates are all in immaculate condition, the chemise shows a bit of wear along the edges and one chip at the front panel. The original string is present and nicely holds the miniature catalogue (the 64mo) together. An ephemeral, early Paul Rand piece. Near Fine. Item #18451
