Irrational Ravings (Frank Sinatra's Copy). Pete Hamill.

Irrational Ravings (Frank Sinatra's Copy)

New York: G.P. Putnam's Sons, 1971. Cloth. A major Association copy and a very nice piece of New York history. WONDERFULLY INSCRIBED BY PETE HAMILL TO FRANK SINATRA: "FOR FRANK SINATRA--WITH MUCH THANKS FOR MANY YEARS OF CRAFT AND ART--AND FOR TEACHING A NEW YORK KID HOW TO FEEL--BEST, PETE HAMILL 1/29/72". A very solid copy to boot of the uncommon 1971 1st edition of this first collection of Pete Hamill's first-rate newspaper work to appear in book form. Tight and VG+ (light staining to the fore-edge) in a bright, price-intact, VG dustjacket, with a bit of light creasing and chipping --and several small closed tears-- along the panel edges. Very light wear as well along the jacket's spine ends. Thick octavo, from his earliest years in Brooklyn up thru his battles as one of New York's premiere muckrakers and journalists, Pete Hamill here tells it like it was. Very Good + / Very Good.
