The American Anti-Slavery Almanac, for 1839 (Vol. I, No. 4 -- Both Original Covers Present)

New York & Boston: American Anti-Slavery Society, 1839. Original wraps. The American Anti-Slavery Almanac for 1839, with its uncommon original wrappers (mustard yellow) present but detached. Understandably fragile, given its age, but stll quite presentable. The text --and the accompanying wood-block illustrations-- are crisp and bright. 12mo, a Good+ copy of a significant piece of American (and African-American) history. "Being the Third After Bissextile or Leap-Year, and the 63d of American Independence. Calculated for Boston; Adapted to the New England States." (from the title page). Good +. Item #17712
