Street Jesus

Hans Levi and the Scrimshaw Press, 1972. Original wraps. The 1972 1st edition of this uncommon collection of photographs of a number of the street preachers who garvitated to Sproul Plaza at the University of California at Berkeley. Once the symbol --as well as the birthplace-- of the Free Speech movement, Sproul Plaza saw all sorts of wild "evangelical" scenes, some of which are captured here in crisp black-and-white. The book is tight and VG- to VG in its pictorial wrappers, with one thin, neatly-applied band of black tape reinforcing the spine. 2 small stamps (denotating private library?) at the top of the copyright and Contents pages, otherwise very clean. Tall quarto, wild and raw Berkeley in the early 1970s. Very Good -. Item #16877

Price: $100.00
