Orignal Signed Photograph of "The Catch That Beat Penn" (Princeton-Penn Football Game, Oct. 13th 1951)
Princeton, NJ: 1951. Wonderful original photograph of an Ivy League football game played at Franklin Field in Philadelphia on Oct. 13th, 1951 between Princeton and Penn. The photograph captures the dramatic moment when #83 (Frank McPhee) is just about to reel in the ball and make "the catch that beat Penn". At the bottom of the photo, just underneath the action, FRANK MCPHEE HAS INSCRIBED THE PHOTO TO "BO", A CLASSMATE FROM PRINCETON. The oblong photo measures 13 3/4" wide by 5 1/2" tall and shows light chipping at the corners and light creasing along the edges. Still though, it remains crisp and vibrant and on the back shows the vintage stamp "Photo by Alan W. Richards Princeton, N.J." A one-of-a-kind item and a nice piece of Ivy League history. Item #15934
