London: Macmillan and Co., 1873. 1/2 cloth. The 1873 1st edition, bound in a contemporary-to-the-period polished 1/2 red calf over red cloth. Raised bands, bright gilt lettering and tooling within the compartments. Solid and VG, with just a touch of scuffing along the tips and very light wear to the spine ends. Internally, light staining at the verso of the front free endpaper (where a name has been partially sanded away) and the light offsetting resulting from this on the opposite recto. Otherwise, very clean, with no writing or markings of any kind. Thick 12mo, top-edge gilt, includes the tipped-in errata slip at the beginning of the text. Very Good. Item #14099
