Mukomachi, Japan: Bijutsu shuppan-sha, 1953. Original wraps. #198 of only 300 copies issued of the 1953 1st edition. Tight and Near Fine in its beige wrappers, with a small, light stain at the foot of the front free endpaper. Otherwise, near-pristine internally, with the 40 tipped-in woodblocks and the 47 (as stated) tipped-in specimens in beautiful, unblemished condition. Housed in a very solid, Near Fine example of the publisher's thick, printed chemise, with its original ribbon-ties completely intact. A lovely, lavish exmple of Japanese post-War bookmaking.
