Item #13105 St. Augustine (Turn-of-the-Century Photo Album).
St. Augustine (Turn-of-the-Century Photo Album)

St. Augustine (Turn-of-the-Century Photo Album)

Original wraps. Uncommon photo album of St. Augustine, Florida, c. 1900. Billed as the oldest city in the United States (or, more accurately, "the oldest continuously occupied European-established settlement in the U.S."), St. Augustine is obviously rich in history and this album includes a number of its most historic spots, such as: "Old City Gate", "The Sea Wall", "Fort Marion". "Hotel Ponce de Leon", "Hotel Alcazar", "St. George Street and Old House" and "Old Slave Market", etc. The printed photos are all crisp and bright and have white-lettered captions. And the ribbon-tied, olive-green covers (with their decorative flourishes) have held up nicely but show light offsetting along the edges. Oblong quarto, a wonderful celebration of "old" St. Augustine. Very Good +. Item #13105
