Ulysses. James Joyce.

Paris: Shakespeare and Co., 1925. Half-Leather. The August 1925 stated 6th printing of "Ulysses", representing still a very early edition resulting from the legendary coupling of bookseller/makeshift publisher (Sylvia Beach) and author (James Joyce). This copy has been handsomely re-bound in half-leather by J. MacDonald of Norwalk, Connecticut and bears the binder's stamp at the verso of the half-title. A solid, VG copy in its half-morocco over marbled boards. Light rubbing to the panels, pronounced rubbing andf flaking at the leather spine labels. Small, discreet former owner name plate to the front pastedown and smaill ink signature at the half-title. A bit of spotting at the lower-edge and very light soiling to the preliminaries. Still though, tight and quite well-preserved. Thick quarto, 736 pgs. Also includes handsome custom-made slipcase (with leather spine label) and matching chemise. Collectible; Very Good. Item #11131
