Item #17982 Peter Pan and Wendy (In the Publisher's Pictorial Box). J M. Barrie.

Peter Pan and Wendy (In the Publisher's Pictorial Box)

New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1932. Mabel Lucie Attwell. Pictorial boards. A handsome copy of the 1932 1st thus, the 1st appearance of the Mabel Lucie Attwell full-page color illustrations. Perhaps even more notable though, this copy also includes a sharp, very well-preserved example of the publisher's uncommon pictorial box. The book is tight and VG+ in its pictorial boards, with a small, neat 1934 Christmas day inscription from mother to daughter on the front free endpaper and a small, tasteful bookplate to the front pastedown. Otherwise clean as could be internally, with no other writing or markings to speak of and with bright, clean boards. Thick octavo, the attractive Mabel Lucie Attwell illustrations thruout. And the aforementioned publisher's box (which is largely responsible for the sharp condition of the book) is crisp and sturdy and VG+ to Near Fine, with virtually no wear to the corners or the edges. Sharp and very presentable. Very Good +. Item #17982
