WARMLY INSCRIBED BY JACK DEMPSEY(!!) on the front free endpaper. A nice copy to boot of the 1961 British reprint (original UK edition was published a year earlier). VG in a bright, price-clipped, VG dustjacket. Clean and well-preserved, with just a light trace of limited foxing and a slight mustiness. Octavo, 249 pgs. This book originally appeared in The States under the title "Dempsey by the Man Himself: As Told to Bob Considine and Bill Slocum". The British edition though is not only more colorfully titled but has a much more striking look, thanks to the cover artwork of an artist named Fratini. Co-written with Bob Considine, the man who will forever be remembered as having co-authored (read: written by himself) "The Babe Ruth Story", Dutton, 1948.
