Clean and VG+, with very light rubbing along the spine ends. Thick octavos, 1,274 pgs. all told. Handsome marbled endpapers and matching edges, gilt-ruled borders, raised bands and author and title labels to the spines. All fold-out maps present and in nice condition. The maps inserted into the pockets at the rear pastedowns present and clean as well.

Uncommon --and wicked-- early 30s send-up of Hitler and his nascent Nazi Party. Published out of London (probably in 1933 or 1934) and written in a deadly, pointed verse, the text is illustrated thruout by the author to capture the Nazis in some of their favorite pursuits (bookburning, ransacking, gratuitously interrogating, etc.). VG in its pictorial boards, with light wear at the spine and light soiling along the boards. Very light, inoffensive offsetting as well at the free endpapers. Wonderful cover image of Hitler in outsized "Nazi" fingers, paying homage to the legendary German children's tale of the mid 19th century, "Struwwelpeter" (1845). Reminiscent of ---but even earlier than-- Arthur Szyk's wonderful attack on Hitler and the Nazis called "The New Order".
