Part of the American Guide Series and prepared by the Federal Writers' Project, these state WPA Guides were of a surprisingly high-quality,  often recruiting top-flight writers and scholars. This, the Maryland State Guide, has held up nicely. Tight and VG in a bright, price-intact, VG+ dustjacket, with just a touch of chipping to the top-edges and very light rubbing at the front panel. Thick octavo, 561 pgs., fold-out map at rear pocket, as called for.

The very first college daily produced. Vol. I--No. I, the Yale News, which would eventually become the Yale Daily News. Jan. 28, 1878, price 5 cents. One folded sheet, comprising 4 octavo pgs. Light browning to the paper and light chipping at the spine but still crisp and clean and very well-preserved. The print is still bright as well and almost completely unbroken. A nice example of the maiden issue of the nation's longest running college daily.
